june 20 buttercups

June 20 – Last summer David and I had a disagreement about the field out front.  He wanted to know why I didn’t mow down all the weeds.  Weeds?  It was full of wildflowers and I thought it was amazingly beautiful.  Once the flowers were done, I did mow the field.  Meanwhile, David learned quite a bit about my aesthetic.  This year, he mowed the tall grass until he reached this field (which is alongside the road).  Then he called me over to show me the buttercups, and he left them be.  I now have a path to the buttercup field and a nice place to sit under the big white pine tree.  I love that man.
