August 1 – I’m getting around a dozen eggs a week, which is plenty when David isn’t home.  Once he gets home, though, they go fast.  The white eggs are tiny, so two of them is like one regular large egg.  The speckled egg comes from Charlotte, the Welsummer.  She only lays 2 or so a week, which is a bit of shock after the Orpingtons, who lay 6 a week.  However, I do like the speckled eggs.  Charlotte and the two Dutch ladies (the bantams) are the only ones laying just now.  I expect the rest of the ladies to start any time now.
