Oct 17 – My Barred Rock pullet.  She still has no name (any suggestions?).   My garden wagon is currently parked in the garden and the chickens have been allowed free in there to help fertilize and eat bugs.  They’re scratching up the ground very nicely, yet not destroying the strawberry plants (those that have returned after being eaten by deer, that is).  This effectively doubles the size of the chicken yard, and they seem happy enough.  They have, however, eaten every bit of grass there was, so while there still is some, I release the chickens and let them range for awhile.  They like grass.
