May 22 – One of the baby Ameraucanas.  I think of her as a gold splash.  As a chick she was goldish with a blue head – some of the blue is still there.  Had I known she would be this white, I might have passed.  She is a pretty chicken, though.  Great face.  I worry about future predation, however.  The hawks seem to find the white chickens.  I am considering a covered pen for white chickens, since I am getting some Blue/Black/Splash Orpington eggs and if I get splash chicks will definitely want them protected.  Still after my blue Orpingtons!
