Oct 6 – We had a big frost, which made all my bean pods soft.  I got antsy and picked them and shelled them.  So rather than dry beans, I have fresh beans, as these are still soft.  This variety is called “Turkey Craw.”  The story is the original seeds were found in a turkey’s craw.  I think they’re lovely beans.  I have four pint jars full in the freezer.  One pint got cooked for dinner.  They don’t take as long to cook and once cooked they’re just beans.  Very tasty, organic, home-grown beans.  I’ll be growing more next year.
